Extension Leads

Q: Can I use an extension lead or multiple adaptor extension lead?

A: The use of any extension lead is not recommended. Overheating of the lead may occur during the operation of the heater and can damage the GPO socket.

Setting The Manual Timer

Q: How do I set the manual timer?

A: First choose either AM or PM, making sure all of the tabs are pushed toward the centre. Then, just push out the tabs for when you want the unit to turn “on” and “off”. Each tab represents a 15-minute increment.

Setting The Digiatl Clock

Q: How do I set the time of day on the digital clock?

A: On the left side of the display, where the “Clock Setting” buttons are located, press the “hour” and “minute” at the same time for approximately 5 to 7 seconds. The time of day will start blinking again. From there, follow the standard steps for setting the time of day on the clock.

Power Cord Getting Hot

Q: Should the power cord get hot?

A: No. If the cord is getting hot, the problem is with the outlet, not the heater. There is a bad connection and the cord is getting heated from the outlet.

Coating Odour

Q: What is the coating that is put on the heaters and will the odour from this coating ever go away?

A: Before the units are shipped, an ecologically safe powder coating is placed on the heater to protect it from salt air erosion. The smell is the coating burning off. It is harmless and should dissipate within the first 20-30 hours when running your unit on high in a well-ventilated area.

Leaving The Heater On Unattended

Q: Can I leave the unit on all day if I’m not at home?

A: No. We do not recommend that you leave the unit “on” unattended.

What Type Of Oil Is Used

Q: What type of oil is inside the oil-filled radiators and does it need to be refilled?

A: The oil is a diathermic, which is a form of mineral oil. The oil is permanently sealed and never needs to be refilled.

Combustible Materials

Q: How far should my heater be placed from combustible materials?

A: All heaters should be kept at least 90cm from all combustible materials.
